In September 2023, Katy and Ed went to the wedding of their dear friends, Maddy and Nick. Despite being so close (literally standing side by side as Bridesmaid and Groomsman), their paths did not cross. A few months later, Maddy and Nick put their cupids bows on and did some medelling to put Katy and Ed on each others radars. In early January 2024, their first date was a-go! A few pints in Wandsworth, a burger in Brewdog, a go-karting race at Gravity and Ed’s FIRST spicy marg later - it was a success - (even though they subsequently realised Ed’s flies were down for most of the evening)!
Many visits to Katy’s flat in London shortly became weekends to St Albans, Dibden Purlieu, Abbotsbury, Newcastle and Wales. After a couple of years of a beautiful relationship, they decided to take the risk and apply for sabbaticals at work. In September 2025, they jetted off on an epic six-month world trip, ticking off 12 countries and successfully pissing off ALL their friends with insufferable posts of Fiji and New Zealand in December!
On a freezing February night in Seoul, South Korea, after a perfect day, Ed bent the knee outside the stunning Myeondong Cathedral. Katy of course said yes, and they celebrated with a pint in true Ed and Katy fashion. Within days, Katy was in her full Operations Manager mode and had planned most of the wedding you are going to attend! It has been a perfect, adventurous, loving relationship so far and we’re so excited to share the next step of marriage with you all.
